our story
building singapore’s most diverse and resilient neighbourhoods
The mission was always to support a vibrant network of businesses —
both the members in our workspaces and our neighbours on the street.
As any business owner will tell you, the path has not been without its setbacks; but, the setbacks gave us some hard-won lessons that in turn shaped the kind of business we want to be.
The 2020 pandemic was a good test, and a watershed moment. When strict remote working took hold, we chose to proactively extend rental relief, offer flexible downsizing options, and otherwise seek ways of supporting the businesses in our community. We weathered the COVID-19 storm with a remarkable 98% occupancy and have never looked back.
The Working Capitol launched in March 2015, in a former 1920s biscuit factory at 1 Keong Saik Road. Since then, we have grown to encompass over 130+ companies and 36 heritage properties across Singapore’s Keong Saik, Telok Ayer, and Ann Siang neighbourhoods.
Along with our coworking and private office memberships, we now also provide custom enterprise solutions for teams of up to 200, all in beautiful shophouse spaces.
As we move into our second decade, we remain committed to working with our members and adapting to their evolving needs. We believe this is key.
The demands of the present day require more of a human touch, not less; more creative solutions; and longer-term thinking.
singapore’s most sustainable workspace provider
We have big plans for The Working Capitol. To continue to build environmentally-kind practices into our daily operations and reduce our waste; to continue to be responsibly involved in the communities around us and shape the neighbourhoods that we want to see and live and work in.
… and the happiest and kindest coworking community in singapore.
Most importantly to keep doing all this alongside our members, the
awesome people who make TWC their own. We can’t do any of it without you.
